African Sports Network and the Cameroonian Embassy in DC salute NBA's Milwaukee Bucks Cameroonian native Luc Mbah A Moute

Last Friday March 5th, 2010 I had the opportunity to witness a inspirational day at the Embassy of Cameroon in Wasington D.C.

NBA Milwaukee Bucks Cameroonian born Luc Mbah A Moute was received by the Ambassador and given the Flag of our country (CAMEROON) as an encouragement gift to continue representing Cameroon in such a highly praised profession.

The event which was only reserved for press and the Ambassador's personal guests started on time with an introduction of the Ambassador then Luc by the "Cultural Attache" of the Embassy.
Luc then gave a heartfelt and strong speech followed by the Ambassador very encouraging speech, targeting the youth of our Country in coming forward representing our beloved Cameroon in each and every one of our professions in which we're exceling.
He honored Luc as well as African Sports Network CEO and Founder Awasum Junior in his speech and added that we are all Ambassadors of our Country outside of it and that everything we do good or bad will be taken as a representation of our dear Cameroon.

With that said I will leave you with some pictures of the event as well as a video of the Ambassador's speech but I would like for all of you young Cameroonians out there to meditate on the speech and choose wisely how you will go about representing us out there.

The Nakande's Project Corp.

Dear Sexy Pumpkins...

I would like to introduce to you my baby I call her Princess Nakande.

Five years ago I woke up with the idea of creating an organisation that will help girls in Africa. The problem was that I had the idea but didn't know how I was going to proceed about it.
So I let it slow cook in my head for a few years, every year gaining in maturity so obviously in ideas as well. In 2007 I was speaking with a dear friend of mine on the phone about everything and anything when he talked to me about this Cameroonian Douala princess by the name of Nakande. For some reason when I heard that name I had chills all over, it sounded so right I don't even know how to explain it.
Anyways I had found the name for my organisation but I still didn't know how I was going to help those girls, how was I suppose to start being a young woman myself? Who was I supposed to talk to about it?...

Well only God knows how he got me where I am today.

During the summer 2009, I spoke a lot about my ideas and my goals to a friend of mine who was with me in New york. She gave me a lot of insight and very strong motivation. I made my decision, I was going to put Nakande on its feet by the end of 2009. Yet another problem came up, where do I go to get things started? So I took two months to do some serious research. Just when I realized that sure my idea was good and my project as well, it was still missing something.

That is when in September 2009 I met with a young woman by the name of Olivia Ngou to host a gala for a Non-Profit Organization in NY. It was amazing, after talking to her for 30 minutes I realized that we understood each other so well, she was the missing link. She was building her Non-Profit as well for girls in Africa. She was focusing on health and I was focusing on Arts.

Joining forces with her gave birth on October 18, 2009 "The Nakande's Project".

Today I'm proud to say that we are officially an Incorporated Non-Profit in the U.S and we have many projects coming up for our dear mother Africa.

The Nakande's Project team counts 2 committees, 1 in France with 6 Board members and 1 in the U.S with 7 Board members.

Stay tuned for the website and more to come.
